According to the figures, Apple’s Mac shipments for Q3 2017 are estimated to be 4.613 million units, versus the same quarter last year where Apple shipped 4.886 million units. The company’s market share for this quarter is 6.9% versus the 7% that was last year, with a 5.6% decline in growth.
However like we said, this seems to be applicable for most PC makers on that list, such as Lenovo, Dell, ASUS, and Acer. HP appears to be the exception to that as the company has actually seen a growth of 4.4% compared to the previous year. The overall decline might not necessarily have anything to do with Apple, but could be due to other reasons like customers being more interested in smartphones or tablets versus PCs.
It is unclear if shipments will continue to decline for Apple or if things will eventually pick up, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
