It has been almost a year since the Surface Dial accessory was released by Microsoft for its Surface Studio all-in-one computer. There aren’t a lot of apps out there that have support for this accessory but more are gradually being added to the list. Adobe Photoshop was one of the apps that users wanted most to get support for the Surface Dial. It has now been confirmed that Adobe’s flagship software now gets along very well with the Microsoft Surface Dial.
It was possible to use the Surface Dial with Adobe Photoshop previously, however, users only had access to basic functionality like zoom. Now, though, Photoshop finally has enhanced support for this accessory.
Adobe’s latest iteration of Photoshop has Surface Dial integration to adjust the brush settings. That’s all it can do right now, Adobe has limited Surface Dial integration to the brush settings for now. It actually brings up a separate brush menu when the Dial is triggered. It allows users to adjust the opacity, size, flow, hardness and smoothing by simply rotating the dial.
It’s about time that Adobe enabled this functionality in the app for the Surface Dial. It also doesn’t hurt that the support has arrived merely weeks before Microsoft’s new Surface Book 2 is due to be released. The new Surface Book 2 is going to be released in November.
