Those who are holding on to the HTC One M9 on Verizon can rejoice today as the carrier has finally started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for this device. They’ve been made to wait a considerable amount of time, particularly when you consider the fact that the unlocked HTC One M9 received its Nougat update in December last year. That’s a heck of a long time to wait for a firmware update.

Verizon is now rolling out build number 4.49.605.11 to HTC One M9 owners on its network. The update bumps up the core Android version to 7.0 and brings all of the features that are part and parcel of Nougat. The update also includes the August 2017 security patch.

It was actually confirmed in June last year that the HTC One M9 would receive the Nougat update. When the unlocked version got it in December, many expect that it would land on the Verizon version in the near future. Little did they know that users will practically have to wait for an entire year before they could get a taste of Nougat.

The HTC One M9 Nougat update is now being rolled out by Verizon over-the-air. It should go live for all users across the country in the near future.
