The internet is a great resource if you want to do some extra learning in your free time. There are countless services available online that will teach you everything from coding to cooking online. Online teaching startup Udacity has now opened registration for a new “Intro to Self-Driving Cars” course that anyone can enroll in. It’s actually billed as a “nanodegree” class.
The only prerequisite here is that students who are interested in this course should have some experience with C++, Python, etc and algebra. Once they have completed the four month nanodegree class from Udacity, students will be eligible for automatic enrollment in Udacity’s year-old Self-Driving Car or Robotics Nanodegree programs.
Those programs are aimed at providing students with the skills that they need to get a job in the autonomous driving market. Udacity reveals that its Self-Driving Car Engineer Nanodegree program saw more than 43,000 people applying from all over the world and that 60 of the program’s students have already secured jobs before even graduating.
The Intro to Self-Driving Cars course costs $800 to enroll on Udacity. Ride-sharing service Lyft has partnered with Udacity to provide 400 scholarships that are meant for students that are from communities that are underrepresented in tech.
