According to a report from SamMobile, it has been revealed that Samsung is working on bringing Android 8.0 Oreo onto their flagship phones, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. Samsung has yet to officially announce anything as this report comes from SamMobile’s sources, but given the flagship nature of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and that they were only released this year, it wouldn’t really surprise us if the report is true.
There is no mention of the Galaxy Note 8 and its Android 8.0 Oreo update status, but we also wouldn’t be surprised if development for the handset wasn’t too far behind that of the Galaxy S8 and S8+. Unfortunately there is no timeline as to when the update will be released, but hopefully Galaxy S8, S8+, and even Note 8 users can expect to receive the update by the end of the year.
In the meantime it looks like other companies such as OnePlus have already pushed the update, which is still in testing, to its closed beta group for the OnePlus 3.
