Moto X Pure Edition Android 7.0 Nougat Update Finally Released

Motorola has made owners of the Moto X Pure Edition wait for a considerable amount of time for the Android 7.0 Nougat update. The Moto X Pure Edition was released by Motorola back in 2015. While the company previously had a reputation for quickly sending out major firmware updates, that wasn’t the case for this particular handset. Over a year after it was first released by Google, the Android 7.0 Nougat update has finally been released for the Moto X Pure Edition today.

Motorola had a good reputation for being quick with firmware updates for most devices. Some of you might remember that the 2013 Moto X received Android 4.4 KitKat faster than the Nexus 4 did. We saw history repeat itself with the Moto X (2014) when it was updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop ahead of the Nexus 5.

Those who purchased the 2015 Moto X Pure Edition would probably have expected a similar update experience but little did they now that the company would make them wait for over a year to get a taste of Android 7.0 Nougat.

Motorola released the Nougat update for an iteration of this handset back in July. The Moto X Style is what its iteration is called in Brazil. Two months after users in Brazil got the update, the Moto X Pure Edition is finally getting Nougat in the United States.

If you own this handset, you should receive an over-the-air update notification soon, if you haven’t already.
