LG V30 Will Reportedly Be Priced Cheaper Than The Competition

Flagship smartphones these days are certainly not cheap, what with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 being priced a little over $900 unlocked, and the new iPhone X sporting a price tag of $999. This means that customers who are price sensitive will be avoiding these phones like the plague despite their brand new, high-end features.

LG seems to be aware of this in a report from The Korea Herald and a post on Reddit (via GSMArena), it looks like LG will be trying to undercut the competition with its LG V30 smartphone. The reports are claiming that in Korea, LG will price the phone at around 949,300 won which is roughly $840 for the 64GB model, while over in Canada, carrier Telus could be offering a pretty sweet deal where the phone might be priced as low as $300 if customers were to purchase a new line (details aren’t clear yet).

The report out of Korea claims that LG had initially planned to price the phone similar to what its competitors have priced their phones, but apparently decided that maybe they will price it a little lower in order to maximize demand. Pre-orders for the phone are expected to kick off this Thursday with the launch officially set for the 21st of September. Whether or not the reports are true remains to be seen, but if the price of the Note 8 or iPhone X have put you off, maybe the LG V30 could be a more affordable alternative.
