This seems to be more or less in line with the earlier rumors, but here’s some additional bad news. If you were thinking of getting your hands on the phone, you’ll want to move quickly because it seems that even in 2018, the iPhone X could be difficult to get ahold of. This is according to a research note by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that was recently obtained by MacRumors.
According to the research note, Kuo says that demand for the iPhone X won’t be fully met at least until the first half of 2018. “We believe the fullscreen design and facial recognition features will drive replacement demand for the iPhone X. However, due to supply constraints, we expect market demand won’t be fully met before 1H18.”
This means that if you don’t pre-order the iPhone X promptly, then good luck trying to find one next year. We’re not sure how this will work out for Apple since it could affect revenue, not to mention there will probably be some customers who would rather hold out and wait for 2018’s refresh than the iPhone X, but we guess only time will tell.
