The report claims that over in Sydney, about 30 people turned up for the iPhone 8’s release, with users from other parts in Australia also sharing similar experiences. In a way it is rather ironic because ahead of the iPhones being announced, lines had already begun to form, but it seems that might have been the extent of it.
While it is unclear why there appears to be less people this year, there could be a number of factors, such as how people might now prefer making their purchases online. An alternative is that customers appear to be holding out for the iPhone X, which is what many analysts seem to suggest.
However this doesn’t mean that the iPhone 8 is a flop, it’s just that demand does not appear to be too great this year. We will have to wait for the official figures to be released before we will know the truth, but in the meantime Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has suggested that some stores have already sold out of the device.
