Google released Android 8.0 Oreo a couple of months back but it’s yet to make its way to a majority of Android-powered devices. That’s because Google’s hardware partners normally need a few months to tune the update for their devices before they send it out. Some evidence has surfaced online which suggests that the Huawei Mate 9 Android 8.0 Oreo update might be released in the near future.
The Huawei Mate 9 has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking website running Android 8.0 Oreo. Normally, when something like this happens, it’s taken as an indication of an impending release.
There were rumors several weeks back about an early ROM of Android 8.0 Oreo for the Huawei Mate 9. There have been enough whispers to suggest that Huawei has been working on this update.
The company is yet to confirm when it’s going to release the latest and greatest iteration of Android for the Huawei Mate 9. Granted, a listing on Geekbench isn’t definitive proof of an impending release, but it’s a positive indicator.
Once Huawei is done with the final testing on this ROM, which it’s probably doing now if this listing is anything to go by, then it shouldn’t be long before the company released Android 8.0 Oreo for the Huawei Mate 9.
