HBO’s Game of Thrones is no stranger when it comes to leaks and spoilers. In fact the most recent one came from the HBO hack which leaked the script for season 7 of Game of Thrones. However it seems that the folks at HBO have an idea of how to prevent spoilers and leaks, although it will probably end up costing them.

In a report from The Morning Call, the publication quotes HBO’s president of programming Casey Bloys as saying that the show will have multiple endings filmed, meaning that no one, save for the showrunners, will really know how the series will come to an end. This means that even if one version is leaked, it could be the fake for all we know, unless it is in which we guess this method doesn’t really do anything except take up more time and cost HBO more money.

Bloys was quoted as saying, “I know in ‘Game of Thrones,’ the ending, they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really know what happens. You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know. So they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end.”

Will this be effective? We suppose the better way would be to actually try and prevent leaks, but since that would be a near-impossible task, perhaps this could work. In the meantime Season 8 of the show is expected to only come in 2019, so it looks like winter won’t be coming just yet.
