If you’ve ever wanted to go to work every day in a luxury Aston Martin like James Bond, then you either need to be an actor who gets to play James Bond or rich. If you find yourself in either of the two categories, perhaps you might also be interested in an Aston Martin submarine. Yes, Aston Martin is making a submarine, but bear in mind that it’s going to be a “strictly-limited edition vehicle.”
Aston Martin has teamed up with Triton Submarines on a new submersible concept that’s called Project Neptune. As you can probably imagine, it’s aimed at people who can afford things like this.
The “strictly-limited edition vehicle” is based on Triton’s 1650/3 LP low-profile submarine. It’s what commonly known as a “super yacht” sub, something that the very well off people have taken a liking to these days.
Triton’s submarine costs around $3.3 million but you can expect that the price will be considerably higher once the Aston Martin badge is slapped on it with a more stylish design and posh materials. Then again, you get what you pay for.
As far as the performance is concerned, the submarine can go down to 500 meters and run for 12 hours, that is if Aston Martin retains the original specs of the Triton sub.
It’s unclear when Aston Martin will actually start making these. One can only hope that it has a cupholder for Mr. Bond’s martini glass.
