The clips will be presented beautifully alongside users’ own media. Plex will enable users to personalize their news feed so that the feed news what sort of news the user is most likely going to be interested in.
The idea behind this new service is to provide balanced news coverage from a variety of reliable sources so that users can keep an eye on what’s going on in the world as they binge on their favorite TV shows and movies.
It’s going to be sourcing news from more than 190 global publisher partners which include the likes of CNN, Euronews, Financial Times, and local news sources as well. Regional content for many other countries will be included too and new sources will be added down the line. Plex has confirmed today that Plex News is going to be rolling out to all users over the next two days. The rollout will start with Plex Pass subscribers.
The service is supported on NVIDIA Shield, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku, iOS, and Android. Other platforms will soon get this service as well. While the content itself is free, do keep in mind that this service is ad-supported, so you’ll see ads while browsing through the news as well.
