Tesla’s high-performance models offer a lot more performance than the other models and we often see videos pop up online showing just how fast these cars can be. Lamborghini is a bona fide manufacturer of supercars. The iconic manufacturer has cemented its place in history as one of the best supercar manufacturers on the planet and yet even one of its creations can end up being smoked by a Tesla Model X which doesn’t even have an engine.
A video has been posted online on YouTube by DragTimes to showcase just how much performance these Tesla models offer. It shows a Tesla Model X P100D crossover SUV taking part in a drag race against a Lamborghini Aventador, a supercar that costs over half a million dollars.
It’s remarkable that the Tesla Model X is capable of beating the Italian supercar, particularly when you factor in the fact that it weighs 5,400 pounds while the Aventador is a full 1,200 pounds lighter than the Tesla Model X.
Not only does the Tesla beat the Lamborghini in the drag race, it also sets a record for being the quickest SUV with a quarter mile time of 11.418 seconds while reaching a speed of almost 118 miles per hour.
This just goes to show that electric cars are no longer be considered glorified golf carts.
