Tesla Electric Semi Truck Range Expected To Be 300 Miles

Tesla has made no secret of the fact that it’s working on an electric semi truck. The company has gone so far as to release a teaser of the vehicle to get people excited about the future of commercial transportation powered by an all-electric motor. According to a new report, Tesla’s electric semi truck range is expected to clock in at 300 miles. This would be at par with the base models of the company’s passenger cars.

Reuters reports that the all electric big rig that’s in development over at Tesla will be capable of covering a distance of 200 to 300 miles on a single charge.

Tesla may confirm that next month as it’s expected to show off a prototype of the semi truck at an event. A confirmed date for the event has not yet been announced.

Tesla is said to be focused on an electric big rig that’s known as a day cab. It doesn’t have a sleeper berth and is capable of covering 200 to 300 miles with a typical payload before have to recharge.

A spokesperson for the company didn’t confirm or deny the possibility, only saying that “Tesla’s policy is to always decline to comment on speculation, whether true or untrue, as doing so would be silly. Silly!.”
