According to Blizzard, “Almost 20 years ago, Blizzard Entertainment released a game that would set the standard for the real-time strategy genre, inspire a generation of gamers, and show the world how powerful esports could be. Today, we are honored to bring a classic game loved by so many into the modern era. Today we launch StarCraft: Remastered.”
Like we said, an upgrade in graphics is one of the changes that Blizzard is making to the game. It will also feature improved audio, stylized briefings, and also tweaks to the UI that we’re sure players will be able to appreciate. If you might recall, while this is a remaster, Blizzard stated that they had to basically rebuild the game from scratch as there were quite a few assets and files missing.
For gamers who are interested, StarCraft Remastered is available for purchase via Blizzard’s website for $14.99. Alternatively if you want to play the original StarCraft and the Brood Wars expansion for free, you can always download the “old” version, although there will be certain features lacking compared to the Remasterd copy.
