Skype And PayPal Join Forces For Easy Money Transfer

Skype today announced a new partnership with PayPal which powers the Send Money feature that it has developed. As the name suggests, the Send Money feature will enable Skype users to transfer money from within the mobile app while they’re in the middle of the conversation using PayPal. This means that they don’t even have to leave the chat window or the Skype app to send money to a contact.

This integration between Skype and PayPal makes it incredibly easy for users to transfer money to a contact on Skype without having to jump between this app and their browser or banking app.

In order to send money on Skype using PayPal, users just have to swipe right when they’re chatting with friends or family and tap on Send Money. They can then complete the money transfer process within the app itself. When the Send Money feature is used for the very first time it will ask users to confirm their location.

If the feature is available in their location, users will then be prompted to link their PayPal account to their Skype account. Everything about the money transfer itself is then handled by PayPal which usually transfers it within seconds.

In order to send money, users need the latest version of the Skype app but the contact that’s receiving money can be on any version of Skype. If the recipient doesn’t have a PayPal account, they will be prompted to create one.

The Send Money feature is supported in 22 countries.
