Samsung is said to be working on a successor to the Galaxy A5 (2017). The handset was launched a few months back so it’s a bit early for the company to be releasing a successor for it just yet. However, it’s likely that we might get to see the Galaxy A5 (2018) towards the end of this year or by early next year.

According to reports, the Galaxy A5 (2018) is going to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 6GB of RAM. A variant of this handset has actually been spotted on the benchmarking website Geekbench which also reveals that the handset will be running Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

It’s also possible that the Galaxy A5 (2018) might feature a dual camera system at the back. Samsung will debut its dual camera system with the Galaxy Note 8 later this week and it’s likely to bring it to its premium mid-range smartphones as well.

It remains to be seen whether the successor to the Galaxy A5 (2017) is going to get any design changes as well, that certainly remains a possibility, but Samsung is also known for not making any major design changes to some of its mid-range devices.

The company itself hasn’t said anything about this device as yet so it’s unclear when we will see the Galaxy A5 (2018) hit the market.
