Now Disney isn’t just all about cartoons as the company also owns Marvel and Star Wars, and so it was largely assumed that the streaming service could include shows from those universes as well. However that might not necessarily be the case, according to a report from TechCrunch in which they quote Disney’s CEO Bob Iger as suggesting that Marvel and Star Wars could get streaming services of their own.
According to Iger, “We’re mindful of the volume of product that would go into those services, and we want to be careful about that.” However nothing has been set in stone yet as Disney’s streaming service is only set to launch in 2019, so right now it is still being discussed, although we’re not sure if there is enough content from Marvel or Star Wars to warrant a standalone streaming service. Either way we’ll have to wait and see, but in the meantime Iger stated that Disney has no plans to pull Marvel’s TV shows from Netflix.
