In a tweet by iOS developer Guilherme Rambo, it seems that the recently leaked HomePod firmware has revealed that the iPhone could potentially be capable of recording 1080p video at 240fps, and not just with the rear-facing camera, but with the front-facing camera as well. Of course whether or not you might have the need for a frame rate of 240fps is entirely up to you and how you use your phone, but we guess at least the option will be there if you need it.
That being said, we can’t say for sure if this feature will be limited to just the iPhone 8 or if it will be applicable across all of Apple’s 2017 iPhones. However we have seen in the past that there are features on the Plus version of the iPhone that don’t make it to the “normal” iPhone, so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see for ourselves.
Apple has yet to confirm when the new iPhones will be coming out, but like we said, next month is probably a safe bet based on previous iPhone launches.
