#IFA2017 – Huawei confirmed last month that it has been working on an artificial intelligence processor that it’s going to integrate into its devices to advance the use of AI on mobile devices. The company has now posted a teaser on Weibo which suggests that it’s ready to launch its artificial intelligence processor in the near future.
The teaser gives off the suggestion that Huawei is going to make its artificial intelligence-related announcements on September 2nd. This means that the announcements will be made at the IFA 2017 convention in Berlin, Germany.
The new AI processor is expected to be unveiled at this event. Not a lot of details about the chip are available at this point in time so it will really be interesting to see what Huawei’s AI chip is capable of.
In theory, a dedicated chip for artificial intelligence should add more smart features to Huawei devices. It may also help the company ensure that its devices stand out from the crowd because of the AI-powered features that they offer.
We’ll have to wait until September 2nd to find out straight from the proverbial horse’s mouth what the benefits are of integrating a dedicated artificial intelligence chip inside a mobile device.
