HTC U11 Gets 60fps Video Support Soon

HTC’s new flagship smartphone, the squeezable U11, has been released to good reviews and the company continues to enable new features for the handset to make it stand out from the crowd. HTC has confirmed today that it’s going to roll out support for 60 frames-per-second video recording to the HTC U11 in the near future.

It appears that while the roll out will begin in the near future, it’s going to take a considerable amount of time to become available for all U11 users across the globe.

The company says that it’s going to be rolling out this update to U11 users “over the next couple of months,” so U11 users shouldn’t expect to get this feature on their handsets immediately.

HTC has left out a crucial bit of information in today’s announcement regarding 60 frames-per-second video recording support. It hasn’t confirmed if 60fps shooting will be limited to 1080p videos or if it will be possible to shoot 4K videos in 60fps as well.

Competitors like the Galaxy S8 are already capable of recording 1080p video in 60 frames-per-second so if HTC U11 is able to kick it up to 4K, it will be a good differentiating factor for the handset.

HTC hasn’t confirmed this as yet though, hopefully, it will clear this up in the near future.
