It was confirmed several weeks ago that HBO had been hacked and that the people who had done it were able to get away with 1.5TB worth of data from the company’s servers. The hackers initially released a script of an unreleased Game of Thrones season 7 episode as well as unaired episodes of some of HBO’s other shows. The HBO hackers have now said that the cable giant should get ready for two new Game of Thrones episodes that they will leak “as soon as possible.”
Mashable received the latest data dump from the HBO hackers. They received login credentials for almost every single HBO social media account. The hackers sent them passwords for HBO’s Twitter, Instagram, Giphy, and other social media accounts.
The hackers also claimed over email to have “access to many HBO Platforms already,” and they also issued a threat. “Be ready for GOT S& E6 &E7 as soon as possible,” the hackers said.
Episode 6 of Game of Thrones season 7 was already leaked online earlier this week, however, it wasn’t the hackers who leaked it. The episode was actually leaked online by HBO Spain. They’ve not leaked Episode 7 so far.
When contacted by the scribe for a comment, HBO said that it’s not in communication with the hackers and that it’s not going to comment every time a new piece of information is released.
Reports suggest that the hackers want HBO to pay them $6.5 million in bitcoin as a ransom for not leaking any more content. HBO’s only offer so far has been a “bug bounty” of $250,000.
