In a report from The Wall Street Journal (via Android Police), it seems that Google is working on a new feature called “Stamp”. This is a play on words of “Stories” and “AMP”, which for those unfamiliar is Google’s Accelerated Mobile Pages, which instantly loads compatible websites on mobile devices.
The report claims that Google is trying to create a Snapchat Discover clone but leveraging its AMP technology at the same time. For the Stories part, Google is said to have reached out to various publishers to take part in it, where it will comprise of a series of slides including text, photos, and videos, which like we said is similar to Snapchat’s Discover feature.
There’s no telling on when Google’s “Stamp” feature will be launched, or if it is even true to begin with, so take it with a grain of salt, but in the meantime what do you guys think? Is this something you might be interested in seeing?
