Game Of Thrones Season 7 Finale Breaks Viewership Records

It’s a headline we read every year after HBO airs that year’s season finale of Game of Thrones. It’s not surprising as well, given that Game of Thrones is undoubtedly one of the most popular TV shows on the planet. HBO has confirmed that the Game of Thrones season 7 finale has broken viewership records. It’s the most watched episode ever.

HBO has confirmed that the Game of Thrones season 7 finale was the most watched episode in the entire history of this series. The cable giant says that 12.1 million viewers tuned into watch the live broadcast of the final episode titled The Dragon and the Wolf.

The number jumps even higher when you factor in streaming services like HBO Go. The total figure in that scenario reaches 16.5 million. This doesn’t include all of the people across the globe that watched pirated copies of the finale just hours after it aired.

It’s quite possible that no other show will be able to break this record that Game of Thrones has yet. It may be the series’ own eighth and final season that ends up doing that.

Fans of the show will have to wait for a considerable amount of time for the new season though, it’s not expected for almost two years.
