AT&T’s standalone TV streaming service, DirecTV Now, is now going to offer subscribers more CBS programming. It has inked a new deal with CBS to bring more of the latter’s offerings to its initial streaming TV package. The new deal includes Entertainment, Sports, and CBS News programming alongside SHOWTIME, The CW, CBS Sports Network, and Pop.
The network’s additional programming will be available on DirecTV Now in the coming weeks. This deal also includes video-on-demand catalogs from CBS, The CW, Pop, and SHOWTIME.
DirecTV Now subscribers will also be able to access local CBS stations but this facility will only be provided to subscribers in select cities across the United States.
AT&T says that it’s going to launch at least 30 additional ABC, FOX, and NBC affiliates on DirecTV Now in the coming weeks. This will bring the total up to more than 170 live local channels available in more than 80 metro areas.
The Entertainment content from CBW and The CW will be available on all DirecTV Now packages. Pop will be included in the “Just Right” package while CBS Sports Network will be available on “Go Big.”
Subscribers who want access to all of the content from SHOWTIME will have to pay $8 per month over and above their monthly subscription in order to access it. This is the lowest monthly rate for SHOWTIME from any streaming provider.
