Console versus PC gaming is a debate that will pretty keep going as long as either platform exists. One popular argument that can be made in favor of PC gaming is that because PCs are upgradeable and for the most part modular, gamers can always swap out components when needed, versus consoles which are usually fixed.

This also allows PC gamers more flexibility when building their rigs, ranging from low-end affordable gaming PCs, to monstrosities that costs thousands of dollars. Now if you happen to own a PC that falls into the latter category, the folks at Bungie have recently posted a trailer for Destiny 2’s PC open beta in which the game is shown off in glorious 4K footage.

According to Bungie, “Experience Destiny 2 in 4K with uncapped frame rates in the PC Open Beta August 29-31. Pre-purchase Destiny 2 on PC Exclusively at Blizzard Battle.net and get 24 hour early beta access starting on August 28. Begin Destiny 2’s epic cinematic story campaign, fight below the surface of Nessus in the three-player cooperative Strike Inverted Spire, and enter the Crucible to put your competitive multiplayer skills to the test in two 4v4 modes. “

Now that isn’t to say that Destiny 2 for consoles will run at a lower resolution. The game will run at 4K for consoles like the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, but it seems that its fps will be capped at 30fps. In any case as Bungie points out, the open beta will be kicking off on the 29th of August, so do check it out if you’re interested.
