According to a note to investors obtained by the folks at AppleInsider, the notoriously-accurate analyst of KGI Securities Ming-Chi Kuo has stated that the Apple Watch Series 3 will not be sporting a new form factor. Instead the Apple Watch Series 3 will sport pretty much all of the same design features as the previous generations, with the main difference being that it is expected to now support cellular connectivity.
This is in line with what we have been hearing, except that in this case, Kuo states that due to technological and commercial limitations, there will be some restrictions for cellular connectivity and that the Apple Watch Series 3 will only support LTE in specific countries and markets. This means that 3G connectivity will not be offered, so if your area or market isn’t blanketed by LTE, then there’s a good chance the LTE model might not be made available in your market, or you could face some limitations when using it.
Kuo also estimates that with the new LTE models being introduced, it could spur additional sales of the Apple Watch that could reach anywhere between 8-9 million units in the second half of 2017.
