However it seems that the name might have been confirmed already, thanks to a recent tweet by Evan Blass in which he shared an image that shows off the Android mascot sporting an Oreo outfit. This pretty much leaves little to the imagination, plus it also seems to confirm all the earlier speculation that Android O would indeed be known as Oreo.
This is an interesting choice of name since it could potentially mean that Google has teamed up with the makers of Oreo in order to use the name, kind of like what Google did with Android 4.4 KitKat in which they had some kind of agreement with Nestle in order for them to use the KitKat name for Android.
That being said, we are approaching that time of the year when Android is typically released. It could also be a hint that the new Google Pixel phones are close to being announced, but in any case check back with us soon for more updates.
