#IFA2017 – At IFA 2017, Acer announced the launch of two connected 360 degree cameras called the Acer Holo360 and the Acer Vision360. The former is a 360 degree camera that enables users to capture, view, edit, and share with just one device. The latter is a cloud-connected in-car camera that provides peace of mind on the road.
The Acer Holo360 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor. The chip enables it to stitch videos in real-time. It also boasts integrated LTE connectivity. The camera has a 3 inch touchscreen display and enables users to live stream 360 degree videos.
Consistent high resolution images are captured by Panomoph optics certified by ImmerVision. This allows the Holo360 to deliver high quality photos in 6.9K resolution and videos in 4K resolution.
The Holo360 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and enables users to directly share 360 degree photos and videos directly to their preferred social networks. The videos can also be previewed on the device itself.
The Acer Vision360 has two ultra-high quality cameras working together to provide 360 degree coverage. It ensures that every angle around the user’s car is completely recorded in 4K. If the vehicle collides with an object while it’s in motion, the device will trigger a recording which includes the GPS coordinates of where the incident occurred.
This is not only saved on the device’s internal storage but also uploaded to the cloud. The Vision360 is mounted on the windshield and aligned with the driver’s eyes.
Acer Holo360 is going to be available in North America starting November for $429. It will be bundled with a water resistant case. Pricing for the Vision360 hasn’t been confirmed as yet.
