Have you ever felt the need to gift your friend an Xbox game? There’s two ways that you can do that currently. You can buy a physical disc and give them that or you can send them a gift card which they can use to purchase a game of their choice. Microsoft has now confirmed that it will soon add an Xbox One game gifting feature which will enable users to gift digital copies of games to their friends.

This was confirmed by Microsoft’s corporate vice president for Xbox Mike Ybarra on Twitter. A fan had asked whether the Xbox One game gifting feature will be offered anytime soon. Ybarra replied that the feature is “not far!.”

The feature will make the process of gifting games much easier. Xbox owners will be able to gift digital copies of games to their friends and family. It will take the aggravation of having to go out and buy the disc or waiting for the package to arrive.

Microsoft would certainly be breaking new ground with this feature as it’s not possible to gift games digitally on the PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch either. It goes without saying that Xbox owners will certainly appreciate this feature.

Microsoft is yet to confirm precisely when this feature is going to be rolled out for the Xbox One.
