Now this isn’t surprising at all. Following the success of the first Wonder Woman movie, it was only a matter of time before the sequel was announced, that’s always the case with superhero movies of this sort. Sure enough, Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that Wonder Woman 2 is now being developed. The confirmation was provided through a sizzle reel that was shown to attendees during the studio’s Hall H panel at the San Diego Comic-Con.
Wonder Woman 2 was listed as part of the eight upcoming movies from the DC universe. The other titles that have been confirmed so far include The Batman, Suicide Squad 2, Shazam, Justice League Dark, The Flash: Flashpoint, Batgirl, and Green Lantern Corps.
Buzz about the sequel has been picking up recently after Wonder Woman became a smash hit after it was released in early June. The movie has earned over $385 million so far. No much is known about the sequel at this point in time, just that Gal Gadot will be returning to play Diana Prince a.k.a Wonder Woman once again.
Director Patty Jenkins has revealed that the story is going to take place in the United States. The studio hasn’t confirmed, though, if Jenkins will be back in the director’s chair for Wonder Woman 2.
