However it seems that Apple could be considering moving some of that production back home to the US, or at least that’s according to President Donald Trump, who in an interview with The Wall Street Journal was quoted as saying, “I spoke to [Mr. Cook], he’s promised me three big plants — big, big, big. I said you know, Tim, unless you start building your plants in this country, I won’t consider my administration an economic success. He called me, and he said they are going forward.”
This isn’t the first time we’re hearing about Apple’s plans to move some production to the US, which is also one of the agendas that President Trump has been pushing for ever since he took office. A recent report suggested that Apple’s manufacturing partner Foxconn could be announcing their US expansion plans this week, so we’re not sure if that’s related to what President Trump was saying, but we’ll just have to wait and find out.
