Speaking to reporters in Taiwan (via SamMobile), it seems that Samsung’s president of mobile division Dongjin Koh was reported as telling them that the Note 8 will be announced by the end of August. Koh did not provide any specifics as to when exactly in August, but we guess we at least have a more solid timeframe to look forward to.
This is also in line with an earlier rumor that suggested that the phone could be announced on the 23rd of August, but whether or not the 23rd of August is the actual date remains to be seen. Koh goes on to add that the Note 8 will be released in waves, with the first wave starting in early September for launch markets, while other markets will have to wait until October.
Once again these launch markets were not specified, but it’s not hard to imagine that they’ll be the same as the Galaxy S8 or the Note 7 back in 2016. In the meantime Samsung’s rival LG has confirmed that the LG V30 will be announced on the 31st of August, so it looks like there will be a bit of competition going on.
