That being said for those in the market for new headphones, you’ll be pleased to learn that Razer has recently announced two new gaming headsets in the form of the Tiamat 7.1 V2 and the Tiamat 2.2 V2. Razer’s Tiamat headphones aren’t new, but these new models incorporate multiple audio drivers in them, which in theory should offer up gamers with richer sound quality and also better positional audio, which could be key when playing certain games where knowing where the enemy is coming from is important.
The Tiamat 7.1 V2 is the more high-end of the two headphones launched and will feature 10 audio drivers to help create “real” surround sound. This includes a 40mm subwoofer, two 30mm drivers, and two 20mm drivers in each earcup. Gamers who want the full experience will need to have four 3.5mm audio jacks available, but if you don’t have that many ports, not to worry as it can function as a regular 2.0 stereo headset.
As for the Tiamat 2.2 V2, it will offer up stereo sound as well as two additional 50mm drivers that will help deliver on the bass. It will be cheaper than the Tiamat 7.1 V2, which is priced at $200, while the Tiamat 2.2 V2 will retail for slightly less at $130.
