Pioneer’s Rayz & Rayz Plus Headphones Get ‘Hey Siri’ Support

With Apple choosing to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack on the iPhone 7 (and presumably future models), this means that users need to start looking for wireless headphones, or headphones with a Lightning connector, which admittedly are few and far in-between compared to “regular” models.

Now Pioneer is a company that makes headphones with the Lightning connector, such as with the Rayz series of earbuds. Now if you were considering the earbuds, you might be interested to learn that Pioneer has recently issued an update for the headphones in which the Rayz and Rayz Plus headphones will now support the “Hey Siri” command.

The headphones themselves will stay the same, but now with the Hey Siri command supported, users will be able to use their voice to make calls, send messages, control music playback, and more, all without having to touch their phone or reach for the headphone’s inline controls. The update will also introduce an AutoPause feature that will pause music when they are taken out of the wearer’s ears, and resumed when they are put back in.

There is also a SmartMute feature that will mute the headphones when you stop speaking, and will automatically unmute when you start speaking again. For more details about the Rayz headphones, head on over to Pioneer’s website.
