Earlier this year it was rumored that the next character that Blizzard will be introducing to Overwatch is Doomfist, but it turned out that wasn’t the case. Instead players were treated to a different character called Orisa. However it seems that does not mean that Doomfist won’t be arriving because the company has teased the character once again.In a post on the Overwatch website, Blizzard wrote that Akande Ogundimu a.k.a Doomfist, had escaped the Helix Security International’s maximum security installation. It seems that Reaper, another Overwatch character, was the one who helped Doomfist escape and managed to defeat over a dozen guards during the attempt.
The blog reads, “Video surveillance from within the compound revealed a black shadowy figure emerging from the craft and descending upon the prison grounds. The unidentified assailant easily overcame the Helix security agents, leaving over a dozen dead. Medical records of the casualties reveal injuries and cellular degeneration matching other incidents involving the mercenary known as the Reaper, all but confirming the incursion as a Talon attack.”
However given Blizzard’s sneaky methods of hiding other teases within teases, there’s no guarantee that Doomfist will be the next character, but either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information.
