If you’ve been looking to purchase a proper virtual reality headset then the latest offer from Oculus is hard to pass up. The Facebook-owned company has discounted the Oculus Rift and Touch bundle significantly. It’s a big price drop and even though it’s temporary, many are certainly going to take advantage of it to get on the virtual reality bandwagon as well.
The Oculus Rift and Oculus Touch bundle has been discounted by almost $200. The bundle can be purchased for $399. This temporary price drop is valid for the next six weeks so there’s ample time for you to decide whether or not this price is one that you’re willing to buy the Rift at.
Oculus vice president of content Jason Rubin has said that the idea behind this price cut is to entice people who “may have been sitting on the sideline because of price.”
The sale is also going to entice those who weren’t thinking about purchasing an Oculus Rift as not only will they be encouraged by the price, but also the growing app and game library of the headset.
In case people get worried that Oculus is discounting the Rift by this much because the device doesn’t have a future should rest assured. Rubin says that “Somebody who goes out and buys a Rift [on sale] is not going to find themselves with hardware that’s outdated any time soon.”
