It has become evident over the past week that the new Nokia flagship smartphone that the rumor mill was referring to as the Nokia 9 is actually going to be called the Nokia 8. HMD Global is expected to unveil this new smartphone in the near future. It’s said to feature flagship-level specifications in a body and build quality that’s unmistakably Nokia. A new teaser has been posted online by an unofficial source which reiterates rumors that the Nokia 8 will feature a dual camera system.
HMD Global is yet to confirm anything about this handset, though. For those who are unaware, HMD Global is the Finnish company that has licensed the Nokia brand and is now developing and selling smartphones under it.
Recent reports about the Nokia 8’s specifications claim that the handset is going to have flagship-level specifications such as Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor. It’s also said to feature a dual camera system.
The teaser that has been posted online by @evleaks shows us a glimpse of this alleged dual camera system that the Nokia 8 will proudly boast on its back. It appears to have Carl Zeiss optics, which isn’t surprising, given that an agreement was signed recently to bring back Zeiss imaging to Nokia-branded smartphones.
HMD Global hasn’t confirmed at this point in time when it’s going to launch this handset, the markets it will be available in and how much it’s going to cost.
