Motorola continues to support its modular Moto Z smartphone series with new mods that further extend the capabilities of these handsets. The company’s latest mod puts a 360 degree camera on the handset. It’s aptly called the Moto 360 Camera mod and features two fisheye cameras at the very top.
Motorola hasn’t really provided much information about this mod for Moto Z handsets. It was actually unveiled at a launch event for the Moto Z down in Ghana. It’s unclear at this point in time if and when the company is going to bring this mod to other markets across the globe.
The technical specs are not known at this point in time. The resolution of the photos that this 360 degree camera can take is unknown. Motorola hasn’t confirmed how much this mod is going to cost and hasn’t even confirmed for customers in Ghana when they will be able to purchase it, let alone provide this information for customers in other markets.
Hopefully, the Lenovo-owned company is going to come out with those details soon enough. From the looks of it, the mod will cover the handset’s entire back as it would need to connect to the pogo pins located at the very bottom.
