Microsoft has kicked off its annual partner conference today and announced a new offering called Microsoft 365. It’s an effort on the company’s part to get its business customers to purchase Office and Windows together. Microsoft 365 is essentially a bundle that includes Microsoft Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise Mobility + Security. The company is billing Microsoft 365 as a “complete, intelligent, and secure solution” to empower all companies and their employees.
The company says that Microsoft 365 details a fundamental shift in how it designs, builds, and goes to market to address its customers needs for a modern workplace. It believes that Microsoft 365 is a more cohesive approach that reflects the shift that its partners and customers are making.
The new offering puts people at the center by giving them the flexibility to work and how they want. They also get access to new ways to collaborate with their team all while keeping company data secure.
Microsoft has introduced two Microsoft 365 offerings today. Microsoft 365 Enterprise is the evolution of its Secure Productive Enterprise offering. It features Office 365 Enterprise, Windows 10 Enterprise, and Enterprise Mobility + Security. This offering is suited to large organizations.
Microsoft 365 Business is meant for small to medium-sized business with up to 300 users. It bundles Office 365 Business Premium with Windows 10 and Enterprise Mobility + Security. It also features a centralized console for deploying and securing devices. Microsoft 365 Business will be available in public preview starting August 2nd, 2017.
