In some ways Pokemon GO is that way, which is why it was not surprising to learn that the game managed to pull in $1.2 billion in revenue. Now according to data from SensorTower, it seems that Pokemon GO players in Japan are spending the most money on the game compared to gamers in other parts of the world.
As you can see in the graph above, it shows that players in Japan are spending on average $26 per download. This is versus second place which is the US which only spends an average of $7.70 per download. This is followed by Canada at $7.60, Australia by $6.20, Germany by $6.10, Sweden by $5.90, Great Britain by $5, Taiwan by $4.60, South Korea by $3, and France by $2.80.
However it seems that despite gamers in Japan spending more, the US market is still the most lucrative for the folks at Niantic. SensorTower reveals that the US market managed to generate $424 million in revenue, versus Japan which only managed $318 million.
