It’s no secret that Samsung has been developing an “Active” variant of the Galaxy S8. The company has been doing that for every iteration of its flagship Galaxy S series device for the past few years. There have been countless rumors and leaks concerning the Galaxy S8 Active so far and the latest brings us a high-resolution render of the device itself.

The specs of the Galaxy S8 Active were recently leaked online as well. It’s going to feature a “shatter-resistant” 5.8 inch 1440p Super AMOLED flat display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5.

It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It also features a 12 megapixel primary and 8 megapixel secondary camera as well as a massive 4,000mAh battery.

The handset is built to the MIL-STD-810G standard which means that it can withstand bumps and bruises. IP68 water and dust resistance are onboard as well so the device will be protected from the elements as well.

The high-res render shows that the metal bumpers on all four sides of the Galaxy S8 Active have Torx screws but it’s not entirely clear why. Perhaps Samsung has made the metal bumpers replaceable but that’s just speculation at this point in time.

Samsung is yet to confirm when the Galaxy S8 Active is going to be launched. Like previous Active devices, the latest iteration will be available only on AT&T.
