Last Sunday marked the launch of HBO’s Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere. Given that the show launched later than the previous seasons, it’s safe to say that fans have been highly-anticipating the launch, especially when we are so close towards the end and finding out what happens to everyone and everything.
In fact it seems that the launch of the Season 7 premiere was so big and so impactful to the point where it looks like traffic for porn actually took a hit on that day itself. According to a report from Pornhub (via Mashable), traffic to the website dipped by 4.5% during the premiere of the episode.
According to Pornhub, “That’s a considerable change in visitors as Sunday night is one of the most popular times for people to visit Pornhub.” This is a bigger dip compared to the previous season which saw a dip of 4.1% on its first episode, and a 5.2% dip on the last episode, which has us wondering if the last episode for Season 7 could have a bigger impact on porn traffic compared to the previous year.
It is safe to say that Game of Thrones has had a huge impact on our society and culture today, and we guess how it has impacted the porn viewing habits of users is an example of that.
