Starting with its display, the specs claim that the Galaxy S8 Active will be feature a 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display with an 18:5 aspect ratio. It will also be covered by a Gorilla Glass 5 screen for added durability. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 835 chipset can be found along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with support for microSD, which like we said, sounds like most flagship smartphones these days.
In terms of camera, it seems that it will be retaining the same optics as the Galaxy S8 with a 12MP rear-facing camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. As for how this differs from the regular Galaxy S8, it supposedly comes with IP68 certification and MIL-STD-810G certification for resistance against shocks/drops/extreme temperatures.
If there is one “improvement”, it is also that the phone supposedly packs a 4,000mAh battery which is larger than the Galaxy S8’s 3,000mAh battery. No word on when the phone will be officially announced, but it is expected to be made available via AT&T when it does.
