You may not have heard of Essential. It’s a new company by the man who’s considered the father of Android, Andy Rubin. Essential unveiled its first smartphone several weeks ago called the Essential Phone. While the company is yet to ship the handset to customers in the United States, it appears that the company already has a new smartphone in the pipeline.
The first Essential Phone carries model number PH-1. A new handset with the model number A11 has been spotted at the Wi-Fi Alliance. This suggested that Essential is working on a new device that it might release at some point in the future.
No further information about this unnamed device is available right now other than that it’s powered by Android 7.1.1 Nougat. We can expect to hear more information about it in the weeks to come if Essential is really going to launch it.
Since the first Essential Phone is a flagship device, there’s a good possibility that this might be a more affordable mid-range option, but this is pure speculation at this point in time.
Even though Rubin had said that the Essential Phone would be released by the end of June it’s yet to come out. Essential has offered no explanation for the delay so far. Recent reports have also suggested that the company is planning a global launch of its first smartphone.
