In a tweet by the Bungie account, the developers have announced that the open beta for Destiny 2 will be extended until this Tuesday (the 25th of July) where it will come to an end at 6PM PDT. According to Bungie, the reason for the extended beta is for additional service testing, presumably to ensure that when the game has been launched that it will go smoothly, or at least smoothly as one can reasonably expect.

So far the open beta for Destiny 2 hasn’t really been well met as many gamers have expressed their frustration that the PvE aspect of the game felt underpowered. Bungie has since responded to the criticisms by claiming that the beta that was tested was an older build, and that the response from gamers pretty much affirms that they thought themselves, and that they have already begun working on improvements.
Whether or not Bungie can deliver remains to be seen as the game is currently set for a release on the PS4 and Xbox One on the 6th of September. The game will also be released for the PC on the 24th of October, where an open beta for the PC will kick off next month.
