We know that many of you guys are probably balking at the price as it makes the phone pretty damn expensive, especially for a device that many companies are hoping you would change at least once a year. However it seems that there is a silver lining, and that is through carrier discounts.
Analysts at Nomura-Instinet are suggesting that despite the hefty price tag, carriers could be offering their customers discounts on the phone assuming that customers are willing to sign some kind of contract with them. We’ve seen carrier discounts offered in the past, but perhaps these discounts could be more significant as apparently US telcos are currently experiencing low upgrade rates.
It remains to be seen how much the iPhone 8 will cost and what kind of deals carriers are willing to offer, but Apple is expected to announce the handset in the coming 2 months or so, so do check back with us then for the details.
