There is a lot of excitement about Microsoft’s Project Scorpio Xbox. The company is finally going to officially unveil the most powerful Xbox console that it has ever made. Over the past few months, we have heard a lot of rumors and reports about this console. We have another report merely hours from the official announcement and it’s pertaining to the Project Scorpio Xbox’s price.
Geoff Keighley, well connected in gaming circles, says that he knows with “confidence” what the Project Scorpio Xbox price is going to be. If he is to be believed, Microsoft is going to sell its latest console for $499.
The company recently cut the price of the Xbox One S ahead of the big reveal due today. It now costs $250. So if Keighley’s information is correct, the Project Scorpio Xbox price will be double that of the Xbox One S.
Keighley does mention in his tweet that there’s a possibility of something changing today so the door is very much open to a slightly different price point for the Project Scorpio Xbox. We can speculate that it won’t exactly been cheap given that it’s going to have an impressive specs sheet that enables it to power 4K games.
All this, and more, about the Project Scorpio Xbox will be confirmed in a couple of hours when Microsoft makes the official announcement at its E3 2017 press conference in Los Angeles.
I can now say with confidence Project Scorpio is $499. Unless something changes today, that is what will be announced.
