While Mario is probably one of Nintendo’s most easily-recognized characters and franchises, there are still quite a few characters that gamers might be familiar with, one of which is none other than Kirby. For fans of Kirby, you’ll be pleased to learn that Nintendo has not forgotten about it and have since announced a new Kirby game for the Nintendo Switch.
In the game trailer above, it sees Kirby return in a new side-scrolling game and for the most part, Kirby will retain its abilities where it can suck in enemies into its mouth to assume their abilities. However there is a noticeable change in which in this particular version of Kirby, gamers can also attempt to befriend enemies who will then join them as allies in their battles.
Unfortunately not much is known about Kirby for the Nintendo Switch right now, such as multiplayer features, but given that Nintendo has been pushing the Switch’s multiplayer (online and local) features, we wouldn’t be surprised if there were some form of co-op, or at least multiplayer modes.
Also if you were hoping to get your hands on the game anytime soon, you will be disappointed to learn that Kirby for the Switch will only be released in 2018.
